The African jungle

The African jungle is known for its wilderness. Here the animals wake up in the morning not knowing whether they will live to see the end of the day. The night is no less fearful. They do not know whether they would see the light of the day, yet again. Here the game between the hunter and the hunted continues 24 by 7. It is the home to some of the most deadliest creatures the world has ever seen. Here the animals are ferocious, wild. There is no mercy...
And yet there is a rule...

Here the animals kill for survival. They kill to eat...to live...A lion and a deer will drink water from the same water-body and yet the lion will not pounce upon the deer unless the former is hungry. Here a lion does not kill a lion; a snake does not bite another snake; a buck and a doe are in equal danger and a mare need not be afraid of any colt.

And then I think of the society we live in - the so-called civilised society of ours! Here we boast of conquering space and mastering the universe. And yet we kill our own race in the name of wars. Here women are more vulnerable in the streets and cities. And that too from their own male species...!

Shame on us....

Never heard anything like "rape" exists in the animal kingdom. So calling the act beastly, is an insult to the animals. How much low shall we stoop?
